If you are an absolute beginner and you have never studied the target language before, you DO NOT need to take a test. You can go ahead and sign up for a level 1 course.
If you would like to enroll in an Immersion Program you DO NOT need to submit a test; the program is designed for students with no prior knowledge of the language. The program covers levels 1-5 over a 6 week period (4 weeks in the summer.)
If you are not sure what level is right for you, you can request a placement test by sending an email to language@bostonlanguage.com
We currently have written placement tests for French (beginner, intermediate, advanced), German (beginner, intermediate, advanced), Italian (beginner, intermediate, advanced), Spanish (beginner, intermediate, advanced), Portuguese (beginner, intermediate, advanced), Russian (intermediate-advanced.)
You can always refer to the single language page to check the level descriptions and the program covered in each level.
